Legislative precedents of the Spanish Law 14/2006, of May 26 on technologies for human assisted reproduction, especially as for the possibility to research with preembryos. After the last reform of the Law, the measures went to avoid the accumulation of frozen embryos in storage, but in the new law the limit that it prevented to research with frozen preembryos disappears. Informed consent and research with preembryos in the new Law: the need of a properly formalized consent, even before their generation. The biological facts and the juridical status of preembryos: a social debate on the possibility of research with embryonic cells, in which many scientists and not scientists reject the possibility of investigating with embryos, and denounce the existence of economic interests in these developments. Bioethics and Bio-Law: conclusions concerning the new Law of 2006.
